| Donny Donaldson Talks to Tim Horsley | |
| Voiceover |
Tunaville FM, playing the best mix of the 80's, 90's and
today.
| Donny |
Welcome to 'Six of the best ' and by public demand we
are joined this week by controversial Hi-Fi shop owner and
Rover's footballer Mr. Tim Horsley. How are you doing Tim ?
| Tim |
Very good thank you and it's a real pleasure to be here to
give me a chance to set the record straight on various issues.
| Donny |
On then with your first choice, which is 'Shipbuilding'
by Elvis Costello. I sort of guessed it might be you who plays
this in the 'Rose and Crown'.
| Tim |
That's right and please listen out on this track for the fuglehorn solo - very good..........
| Donny |
Lovely track - good choice Tim. Now how's the shop doing ?
| Tim |
Very good indeed - very busy at the moment, unlike the
shop next door to me - that Mr. Dodd keeps popping in and out
to see what I'm up to. I haven't seem him have a customer in ages - not that
I'm looking mind, I've got too much on my plate at present. I
don't think he understands the 'sales game' if you ask me..
| Donny |
Your second choice is one from Vangelis.
| Tim |
Yes I like this - it was used in a coffee advert you
know.
| Donny |
You're so knowledgable Tim on a whole range of subjects.
| Tim |
Oooh yes. (Said in a strange accent)
| Voiceover |
"It's Donny thru the night.... Tunaville FM"
| Donny |
So how's your new girl friend Tim ?
| Tim |
Beautiful plumage
| Donny |
I'm Sorry ?
| Tim |
No she's settled down well now and has managed to get some
part-time work down at the Beautician's.
| Donny |
A place you frequent yourself I understand for your
various sporting injuries ?
| Tim |
Yes it's very good, though some of the women in there have
had so many facelifts that everytime they smile they pull their
knickers up !
..... Hysterical studio laughter.....
| Donny |
Oh Tim... you're so original - let's take a breather and
play you're third choice "The lamb lies down' by Genesis.
| Donny |
Welcome back and in case you're just tuning in we are
talking with the very amusing Mr. Tim Horsley.
I have got to ask you one specific question Tim..
| Tim |
And if I answer it correctly will I win a 'beautiful nest
of tables' ?
..... More hysterical studio laughter.....
| Donny |
No, seriously Tim, I was going to ask you to comment of the recent allegations regarding your supposed eating binges ?
| Tim |
Ah, yes that. Well, I suppose it has to be said that I am a bit partial to the odd cream cake now and again.
| Donny |
Well yes, I was specifically referring to the rumour that you were seen scavenging around the dustbins at the back of Anne's Tea rooms recently, searching for old bits of pudding etc. Is that really normal behaviour, do you think ?
| Tim |
Oooh yes. I used to be a dessert rat, you know !
..... uproarious studio laughter.....
| Donny |
We'll have to come back again once we have played your
next track..... 'Wondrous stories' from Yes
| Donny |
We're back again... the question was related to your
controversial sending off and susequent ban.
| Tim |
It was stupid, I realise that now and fortunately my
family and friends were very supportive. I have promised to
clean up my act.
| Donny |
But you have by your own admission a problem with the
drink, particularly extra strength lager - why do you do it?
| Tim |
The drinking of extra strength lager you mean ? - 10,000
tramps can't be wrong !
..... More hysterical studio laughter.....
| Donny |
Quick here's your fifth track .... one from the 'Wish
you were here' album by Pink Floyd.
| Donny |
And we're talking, or should I say laughing, with Tim
Horsley. What will you do with yourself on a Saturday
afternoon, now that you are suspended ?
| Tim |
Well I'll still turn up and support the boys. It'll be fun
to take the piss, (sorry can I say that on radio ?) out of my
colleagues. I know some great one-liners that will upset them.
| Donny |
I'm sure you do Tim and knowing you, you'll bring the
house down. It's truly been one of the funniest times
of my life talking with you tonight. Here's your final track, one from the
Clash.
| Donny |
And with that it's time to wrap up tonight's show, so
it's good night from me.
| Tim |
And it's good night from him.
..... More hysterical studio laughter.....
