. . at least until the novelty wears off!

10th March 2000 Editorial

The battle begins . . .

In the run up to this years mayoral elections, the gazette will closely be following the campaigns of candidates from all sides of the political spectrum.

Currently the only candidate to have declared herself 'up to the task' is Julie Dodd, erstwhile spouse of local bookshop owner, David. Undoubtedly however as the spring primaries approach, opposition is likely to emerge from all quarters.

Rest assured that the gazette will keep you posted of ALL activity in what shows all the signs of being Tunaville's biggest political battle for a number of years.

Is it really necessary ?

Is the recent price hike of Speckled Hen in the Rose and Crown justified? Landlord Paul Mullin cites directives from the SHePEC, (Speckled Hen Producing Economic Consortium) as the reason for the increase to previously unseen levels. The editorial staff of the Gazette (large users of said product if ever there was one) are not so sure however.

Is Mr. Mullin trying to pull a fast one and attempting to bolster his coffers whilst hiding under an autocratic veil of economic bureaucracy? We demand some answers!
